The cad/prusaslicer port

prusaslicer-2.9.6 – g-code generator for 3D printers (cvsweb github mirror)

Description

PrusaSlicer takes 3D models (STL, OBJ, AMF) and converts them into
G-code instructions for FFF printers or PNG layers for mSLA 3D
printers. It's compatible with any modern printer based on the
RepRap toolchain, including all those based on the Marlin, Prusa,
Sprinter and Repetier firmware. It also works with Mach3, LinuxCNC
and Machinekit controllers.

Program Name
============

The program's name is PrusaSlicer, but for historical reasons the binary is
named prusa-slicer. The desktop file appears under Graphics because cad is not
an available option on some window managers.

Memory limits
=============

The initial setup wizard is known to use more memory than the limits set by the
user's default login class, causing PrusaSlicer to crash with a 'std::bad_alloc'
error. To avoid this, increase datasize memory limits in
${SYSCONFDIR}/login.conf or make sure your user is in the 'staff' class, and
bump the limits with 'ulimit'. Setting the datasize to 2048M (ulimit -d 2097152)
should be enough when using default options with all standard printers, but you
may need to bump it up even further depending your configuration.

Font issues - Fixed in 2.9.6
============================

Before version 2.9.6, the mechanism for adding text to an object didn't work,
e.g. the "Add Object->Text" or "Add Negative Space->Text" context-menu items.
This release contains a fix for font selection. If you are upgrading from an
older version and fonts are not loading properly, e.g., the Add...Text item
pop-up neither shows, nor lets you choose, a font name, try deleting
"~/.config/PrusaSlicer/cache/fonts.cereal" and restarting PrusaSlicer.
